The Bowles Family - Family portraits at Hollybank

Kylie contacted me at the start of the year, with only a week before her eldest Nina was about to move to Melbourne for uni she wanted to organise some family portraits before Nina moved away.

I often photograph families at this stage in their lives. It’s the end of an era having a child move out of home, especially when they’re moving interstate, as it changes your core family in a really significant way, and is never really the same again.

I always like to photograph children individually, and I generally make sure I get all the possible combinations, but in this case it was really important to photograph the family as a whole and also Nina’s relationship with the other family members.

I always encourage families to include personal items in their shoot. For this shoot Ezra bought along his little β€œTed” who used to be Rowans, so he needed to be a part of the session!
