First Year Milestones

One of the questions I often get asked is “How often should I have family portraits taken?”

But when talking about newborns and Baby’s first year there’s a handful of milestones which are really important to capture. Because babies grow and change so quickly, documenting their first year multiple times throughout the year makes sense.

Newborn

I recommend scheduling the first shoot as early as possible after the birth of your little one. This first shoot is all about showing just how tiny this new human is. We’ll focus on details like teeny tiny hands and feet and their relative size compared to your hands and how you can hold this little person in your arms. I’ll photograph the love you have for this little human.

6-9 months

The second shoot I recommend scheduling around the 6-9 month mark, or whenever your little one is sitting up by themselves. It’s usually when they’re little legs are chunky and they’re interacting with you a little more, They’re full of smiles and giggles and it’s a really great time for your second shoot.

12 Months

To round out the first yeah I recommend a shoot around the 12 month mark, or when your little one is starting to walk!

I set up my system so that you’ll get a reminder when it’s ready to schedule your next shoot!
