Jenna, Nick, Zoe & Lilly - Newborn Portrait Session at Home

I was so lucky to get to photograph little Lilly at home with Jenna and Nick and her big sister Zoe!

Lilly is the perfect example of not needing a completely happy smiley (or sleeping) baby to have a successful newborn portrait session. You wouldn’t believe from these images that she was super cranky and feeding throughout the entire session. All I need are tiny fractions of a second to capture some beautiful moments. In years from now Jenna won’t even remember that the session felt like a struggle, but she will have beautiful pictures of her family at this important stage in their lives!

I like to make sure the older kids feel involved in the portrait session, I imagine sometimes a newborn session can feel like just another thing for the new baby so I made sure to spend time with Zoe and photographed her while Lilly was having feeding breaks. And of course we had to take photos with her cat too!
