McKeown Family - Newborn Portraits in The Studio
You might remember a blog post about Bianca’s maternity shoot at the Hoo Hoo hut! so I was lucky enough to see these guys twice in just a couple of months! This time with baby Luke and Dad, Keelan, along for the shoot as well! Bianca chose to do the newborn shoot in the studio, which is something that I only offer for clients with new babies.
the studio is a really nice neutral background which allows us to focus on the dynamics of the family and really focus on photographing those new emotions that come with a new baby.
Willow was smitten with her baby brother, but her patience was thin (to say the least) and very quickly all she wanted to do was colouring in and not have any more photos taken! (Which is totally normal for little ones of this age!) So I made sure to get photos of the two siblings together first, then gave Willow a break while I photographed Mum and Baby Luke, and then got her back for the quickest of quick family shots before she gave up completely and I got to photograph Bianca and Keelan with Luke.
Navigating siblings is always a challenge when photographing newborns, especially when they’re still young themselves and aren’t quite used to sharing the attention just yet! but we manage through and it’s ALWAYS worth it! it just takes a little patience (which I’ve got tonnes of!)
