Bianca & Willow Maternity Session at the Hoo Hoo hut Trevallyn

Trevallyn Reserve is not a spot I photograph at regularly - for no other reason than I just forget it kinda exists sometimes! But when Bianca suggested it as a spot for her maternity session with her daughter Willow I thought it was a great idea, and I’ll definitely be going back there again (and adding to to my location guide when I get a few more shoots there under my belt!

Willow was not a fan of the camera and definitely liked it more when she was being a helper to me instead of in front of the camera! BUT she was a little trooper and was very excited for her baby brother to arrive!

I can’t wait to test out this spot during the afternoons and early evenings as it was 10am when we arrived at the Hoo Hoo Hut. I like to let parents dictate the time of day that we have the photography session, as i like to work around nap times of little ones! I can make beautiful pictures any time of day, what I can’t do is make beautiful pictures of cranky kids! I dont believe in forcing a “golden hour” session on families because I find a lot of the time Golden hour is the same time as “witching hour” for anyone with kids under the age of 12!

Willow and Bianca joined me in the studio about a month later with her Dad and new baby brother so stay tuned for that blog post coming up in the near future!
